About Tayla

Tayla is a Registered Psychologist who is passionate about supporting children, adolescents and their families to build confidence, develop emotional wellbeing, and better understand themselves and each other.

Tayla brings a warm, curious and down-to-earth approach to her work, creating a space where children and young people feel safe, heard and accepted. She believes that meaningful change begins with connection and that therapy should be a collaborative process where children and families feel supported, empowered and equipped with the knowledge and tools to support positive change.

With experience supporting children and young people across a range of emotional, developmental and learning needs, Tayla works alongside families to understand each child’s unique strengths, differences, challenges and individual ways of experiencing the world. She is passionate about helping children understand themselves, recognise their strengths and develop practical strategies that support confidence, emotional wellbeing and everyday success.

Tayla provides therapeutic support for children and adolescents experiencing challenges such as:

  • Understanding and managing big emotions, emotional regulation difficulties and feelings of overwhelm
  • Anxiety, worries, avoidance and building confidence in everyday situations
  • Developing coping strategies and resilience
  • Navigating changes, transitions and challenging life experiences
  • Building self-esteem, self-understanding and a positive sense of identity
  • Supporting parents with practical strategies to understand and respond to their child’s emotional and behavioural needs

Tayla also has a particular interest in comprehensive psychological assessments, including developmental delays, autism, ADHD, cognitive, learning and adaptive functioning assessments. She views assessment as more than identifying a diagnosis – it is an opportunity to better understand a child’s unique profile, celebrate their strengths, identify areas where they may need support, and provide families with practical recommendations to help their child thrive.

Tayla uses evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, play-based approaches, attachment-informed and trauma-informed practices. Her work is guided by a neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based perspective, recognising that every child has their own unique way of thinking, learning, communicating and connecting with the world.

The most rewarding part of Tayla’s work is seeing children and families build confidence, recognise their strengths, develop strategies that work for them, and leave feeling understood, validated and empowered.

Tayla believes therapy does not need to feel intimidating or overwhelming. Through warmth, curiosity, humour and genuine connection, she aims to create a space where children can feel comfortable being themselves and families feel supported in helping their children flourish.
