- Life Transitions and Adjustment Supports: Assisting families through difficult times, such as separation, grief, or changes in family dynamics.
Child & Teen Therapy Brisbane
Utilising a family systems approach, we recognise the role of family and community in a child / young person’s wellbeing and development. By empowering each member to thrive, we can support a sustainable approach to growth.
For teenagers who have the capacity to make their own decisions and wish to engage in therapy independently, With Grace Therapy respects their autonomy while ensuring ethical and legal considerations are upheld. We acknowledge that some young people may prefer confidentiality in their therapeutic journey, particularly in situations where family involvement may not be safe, appropriate, or aligned with their wellbeing.
Our team prioritises the young person’s needs while maintaining professional obligations regarding duty of care, risk management, and safeguarding. We also provide guidance on navigating discussions with family, should they wish to involve them in the future, empowering them to make choices that support their overall wellbeing
Our work is guided by:
- Strength-Based Practices: Highlighting the inherent strengths within your family to build resilience.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Ensuring safety, trust, and empathy for those with lived experiences of trauma.
- Developmental Theories: Understanding how individuals grow, learn, and form relationships allows us to provide developmentally appropriate interventions.
- Collaboration and Inclusivity: Partnering with families, respecting diverse cultures and values, and fostering teamwork in every step of care.
