About Karly

Karly is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through all stages of life. She has completed Levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy training and is currently working toward certification as a Certified Gottman Therapist. Karly’s extensive training, combined with her practical experience, enables her to help couples explore the root causes of their conflicts and identify the strengths within their relationship. Karly has also undertaken additional training in supporting couples dealing with infidelity, addiction and trauma and works with couples to rebuild trust and connection.

Karly also works with families utilising a systemic framework. This approach allows her to explore and address relational patterns, communication styles, and intergenerational dynamics that may be influencing current challenges. By involving multiple family members in the therapeutic process, Karly supports the development of healthier connections, improved conflict resolution, and more cohesive family functioning. She is particularly experienced in navigating issues related to parenting, blended families, and life transitions, always tailoring her interventions to meet the unique needs of each family unit.

When working with individuals, Karly draws on a range of treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Schema Therapy. Karly can support individuals with a range of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, family and relationship challenges, life transitions, grief and loss and chronic health issues or injuries. Karly has extensive experience working with ADF veterans and families and is a Defence partner herself, allowing her to interweave her lived experience of the ADF lifestyle into her practice framework.
