General FAQs About Seeing a Dietitian

An Accredited Practising Dietitian is a qualified health professional who uses the latest evidence to help individuals manage their nutrition, health conditions, and eating habits. At With Grace Therapy, our dietitians work with children, teens, and adults to support a range of health and wellbeing goals.

You don’t need a referral to book a private appointment. However, a GP referral is required if you want to claim a Medicare rebate under a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) or an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP).

In Australia, “dietitian” is a regulated title requiring accredited qualifications. A nutritionist may not have formal training, and the title is not regulated. Our team includes Accredited Practising Dietitians who meet national standards for clinical care.

Your first appointment involves a comprehensive nutrition assessment, including medical history, lifestyle, eating habits, and goals.

This depends on your health goals and support needs. Many clients benefit from regular appointments especially when managing eating disorders, chronic conditions, or developing new eating habits.
