About Emily

Meet Emily, an accomplished and Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Counsellor with over a decade of experience supporting adults, older adults, families and carers across mental health, disability, hospital and healthcare settings.

She offers a warm, practical and compassionate approach to counselling, with particular experience supporting people through grief and loss, caring responsibilities, pregnancy and parenthood, changes in health or independence, workplace injury and return to work, and other significant life transitions.

Emily believes therapy works best when it reflects what matters to you. Her person-centred and strengths-based approach considers not only what you may be experiencing emotionally, but also the relationships, responsibilities, environments and life experiences that shape your wellbeing.

Emily’s extensive experience across maternity, mental health, disability, palliative care and aged care has given her a strong understanding of the emotional impact that illness, injury, pregnancy, ageing, caring responsibilities and changes in independence can have on individuals and families.

At With Grace Therapy, Emily provides counselling and social work support using approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Emily draws from these therapies based on your goals, circumstances and what feels most useful to you.

She supports clients to better understand what they are experiencing, develop practical coping strategies and move towards a life that feels more manageable, meaningful and connected to what matters to them.

Emily also supports clients recovering from workplace injury, including adjustment to physical or psychological injury, changes in work capacity, rehabilitation and returning to work.

You may be asking yourself:

  • Am I feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burnt out or like I have been holding everything together for too long?
  • Am I struggling with grief, loss or a significant change I wasn’t prepared for?
  • Am I exhausted from caring for others and finding it difficult to make space for my own needs?
  • Am I finding pregnancy, parenthood or changes within my family harder than I expected?
  • Has illness, injury or a change in my health affected my confidence, independence or sense of who I am?
  • Am I recovering from a workplace injury or finding returning to work stressful or overwhelming?

Alongside her counselling work, Emily provides professional supervision to Social Workers and human services professionals, available in person at our Kedron clinic or online Australia-wide.
