Meet Adam, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and counsellor with over 20 years of experience working across the social services sector, including community mental health, homelessness, and the justice system.
Adam works with young people and adults, bringing a warm, thoughtful, and affirming approach to therapy.
Adam has a particular passion for supporting people within the LGBTIQA+ community, as well as individuals navigating identity, trauma, family relationships, neurodiversity, and major life transitions. His approach is grounded in curiosity, respect for each person’s lived experience, and a belief that therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and paced in a way that works for you.
Whether you are exploring your identity, navigating relationship challenges, processing trauma, or trying to make sense of difficult life experiences, Adam works alongside you to create a space where all parts of your story are welcome.
Together, we might explore themes like:
- Finding clarity around identity, belonging, and who you are becoming
- Navigating sexuality, gender exploration, or feeling unsure about where you fit
- Healing from trauma in a way that feels safe, paced, and grounded
- Managing the impact of family conflict, rejection, or feeling unseen or unheard
- Building healthier relationships, communication, and boundaries
- Exploring life transitions such as leaving school, entering adulthood, or navigating significant life changes
Adam’s practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and person-centred framework. Drawing on social work values of social justice and anti-oppressive practice, Adam recognises the broader systems and contexts that shape people’s lives and experiences.
Adam integrates a range of therapeutic approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed work, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches. Therapy is always collaborative, flexible, and tailored to the individual.
Adam is passionate about supporting people to better understand themselves, reconnect with their strengths, and move towards a life that feels more authentic and meaningful.
In addition to providing therapy, Adam also offers professional supervision for social workers, counsellors, and human services professionals.
