About Adam

Meet Adam, a seasoned professional with 20 years of experience in the social services sector, specialising in community mental health, homelessness, and the justice system.

Adam is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and counselor who brings his wealth of experience to With Grace Therapy. Prior to his role at With Grace Therapy, Adam worked counselling young people (12-25) within the LGBTIQA+ community. Adam’s focus revolves around enhancing the mental health and well-being of individuals, with a special emphasis on the LGBTIQA+ community, identity, young people, trauma, out-of-home care, mental health (collaborative recovery), family and interpersonal relationships, and neurodiversity.

Together, we might explore themes like:

  • Finding clarity around identity, belonging, and who you are becoming
  • Navigating sexuality, gender exploration, or feeling unsure about where you fit
  • Healing from trauma in a way that feels safe, paced, and grounded
  • Managing the impact of family conflict, rejection, or feeling unseen or unheard
  • Building healthier relationships, communication, and boundaries
  • Exploring life transitions – leaving school, entering adulthood, or adjusting to major change

Operating within a social work practice framework, Adam draws inspiration from queer theory, anti-oppressive practice, and systems theory. In his role, he prioritizes individual and group counseling, employing a person-centered framework and integrative counselling that incorporates various modalities such as narrative therapy, solution-focused approaches, and parts work.

Adam is dedicated to addressing the distinct challenges faced by LGBTIQA+ youth in navigating mental health issues. His inclusive approach extends to working with a diverse range of young people and adults, supporting them on their mental health journey.

Passionate about social justice, Adam is committed to working with individuals in addressing inequalities and overcoming barriers that can hinder them from reaching their full potential.

Adam also provides supervision for social workers, counsellors and human services professionals.
